“Everything in Life is Writable About…”

“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise.” – Sylvia Plath

The writers of Seinfeld did 9 (mostly) amazing seasons that would seem to be inspired by this idea. A show “about nothing” was really about the every day happenings that we all relate to and don’t stop to consider how absurd they actually are. Close-talkers, low-talkers, sports face-painters, barking dogs, waiting for your name to be called in a restaurant, masturbation — no topic was off the table… because absolutely everything is writable about!

In 1861, Charles Darwin wrote, among many other earth-shattering findings, this statement to a friend, “I am very poorly today and very stupid and hate everybody and everything.” What a statement! Over 150 years later, I sure can relate, and I am glad he took the time to write about feeling like shit and hating the world. I’d like to see the Seinfeld take on that.

Anyway, so here I am to write about the things that may not be earth-shattering, but maybe they’ll be relatable, because we humans are just so …human! I’ll do my best, if you will, to keep in mind that while everything is writable about, everything might not be readable about.
